Thank you, Mr. Rogers

Today I was directed to a video of Mr. Fred Rogers testifying before congress in 1969 about the importance of funding public television. It's a wonderful exchange between him and a key Senator--I especially appreciate the way he starts by saying simply and directly, "I trust you." What potent words those are!

Among his other powerful words are the words he uses to close every show:
"You've made this day a special day
by just your being you.
There's no person in the whole world like you
and I like you just the way you are."

I hope I remember to tell this to my son, my wife, my family and friends.

It's something we all need to hear and to remember.
